EIGER2 X and XE Detector Series from DECTRIS

The brightness of synchrotrons keeps increasing constantly. To make the most of the growing photon fluxes at the most powerful beamlines, the EIGER2 X and XE X-ray detector series includes DECTRIS instant retrigger technology — initially launched with PILATUS3 — and supports a fourfold increased photon-counting capacity of up to 107 photons/second/pixel.

The EIGER2 X and XE series integrates several additional innovations. EIGER’s nonstop readout has been enhanced to be fully dead time-free. The detectors currently offer a second modifiable energy discriminating threshold and provide gateable detection for pump-and-probe experiments.

A 75 µm pixel size and direct detection of photons for maximum spatial resolution have been retained from the EIGER detector.

Large-area and extremely fast detectors help users to take their research to new levels. Without dark current or readout noise, users can now measure the best data.

Users can manipulate the capabilities of the beamline with the latest detector technology and complete support from the full DECTRIS team.

EIGER2 XE 16M

DECTRIS flagship: EIGER2 XE 16M features 16 million pixels, a detective area of 311 x 328 mm2, and a frame rate of 550 Hz. It is the largest and fastest high-performance detector available today.
