Z-900 Series LIBS Analyzers

SciAps Z-900 Series LIBS analyzers are loaded for a full range of applications, from basic material sorting and screening to exacting elemental analysis, for use in alloys, mining, environmental, forensic, and general analytical analysis.

The Z-901 for alloy analysis quantifies 15 to 20 elements in seven general alloy bases, such as titanium, iron, aluminum, copper, stainless, cobalt and nickel bases. Other bases might be added for a small cost, or users may add their own calibrations.

For quantifying lithium in alloys, users can use the Z-902, with an expanded range to 625 nm to quantify Li emission.

For quantifying carbon in stainless and steels, including verification of L- and H-grade stainless, the SciAps Z-902 C is useful and is used worldwide for measuring carbon and other elements in stainless steels and nickel alloys.

Users who already own handheld XRF and only require adding carbon measurements can use the Z-901 CSi, the ultra-compact analyzer that quantifies C and Si in steels, stainless.

SciAps provides the only LIBS-based alloy analyzer that can be operated in a “dual burn” test configuration. Users have the choice to just select their app.

Scrap Metals Sorting Applications

Alloy: Argon-purge forScrap Metals Sorting Applications high accuracy and enhanced detection limits. Several customers make use of argon-purge to examine and sell mill-ready aluminum scrap. Users can measure low ppm levels of boron and beryllium.

Factory calibrations do not comprise every element, but are offered for a set of 15 to 20 elements based on the application. Unstable and radioactive elements are exceptions. Detection limits differ significantly by element and sample type.

One Box

Users can pair any Z Series with the best-in-class XRF unit and thus achieve improved analysis throughout every element in the periodic table and all the sample types.

XRF

Ideal for transition and heavy metals. User-friendly, particularly on soil, ore and bulk type materials.

LIBS

Users can examine elements that XRF cannot test: Li, B, Be, F, C, Na and more. Enhanced performance on K, Ca and Mg than XRF. Microanalysis with 100 μm laser spot size is available.
