The BitUVisc is a member of the U-Visc family of completely automatic viscometer systems from Omnitek. This automatic kinematic viscometer model fully complies with ASTM D445 and D2170 and was specifically designed to address sample types that pose great threat to automatic sampling, measurement, and cleaning as a result of their viscosity and high pour point.

Flexible and Reliable
The instrument was made to be flexible and adaptable yet simple to use for even the most difficult situations. Different models are available with one or two viscometer tubes, enabling the analysis of a wide variety of sample types and viscosities.
The well-known and tested Ubbelohde design serves as the foundation for viscometer tubes. Fully opaque fluids without any challenges or limitations can be detected using these tubes, and the need to use reverse-flow tubes is eliminated, thanks to specially designed thermal sensors.
Viscosity measurements of up to 150 ºC and sample preheating of up to 200 ºC are both possible with the standard configuration.
Measurements are conducted with excellent accuracy and within acceptable temperature stability with the help of sophisticated temperature control. The system makes use of a distinctive single position auto-sampling that offers integrated sample heating of up to 200 ºC and utilizes a preheated solvent to efficiently clean the viscometer tube.
For unstable materials that normally exhibit poor determinability when sampled repeatedly, such as vacuum residues, additives, crude oils, waxes, heavy fuel oils, polymers, asphalts, etc., the BitUVisc uses custom-designed duplo viscometer tubes.
These tubes feature two measurement segments with a similar tube constant. This enables duplo determination while only sampling once.
The instrument requires a PC for full operation, which is controlled through an advanced PC software application, but it can also be controlled as a stand-alone unit through the responsive color touchscreen interface. At the click of a mouse, PC software enables the operator to specify optimized and fully customizable test methods for each individual sample.
