Molybdenum Lanthanum Oxide for High Temperature Furnaces from Plansee

In this video Roland Steffen from Plansee talks about the Molybdenum Lanthanum oxide, which can be used in high temperature furnaces. By using suitable alloys and optimized production processes, the properties of molybdenum are improved.

To achieve a particularly high level of ductility and creep resistance, pure molybdenum is doped with small quantities of La2O3. The stabilized microstructure and modified recrystallization behavior prevent the premature embrittlement and fracture of the furnace components.
