As the metallurgy industry continues to expand and diversify, Spectrographic have joined forces with the AMRC Training Centre to begin delivering training courses for industry personnel of all levels of expertise.
Spectrographic supplies a wide range of metallurgical equipment and consumables, and the AMRC Training Centre is a pioneering apprenticeship training centre, established to train the next generation of world leading engineers.
The Training Centre is part of the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, a world-class centre for collaborative research into advanced manufacturing technologies used in the aerospace, automotive, medical and other high-value manufacturing sectors.
Both parties have a mutual understanding of how the landscape of the metallurgy industry is formed and how it is evolving, therefore they recognise the need for its employers and employees to learn and move with the times.
This new training partnership aims to bring together the supplier, technical support and academics, with manufacturers and engineers in order to increase productivity, efficiency and understanding throughout the companies operating in the metallurgy industry.
The courses available will cover the following disciplines; the fundamentals of metallurgy, carbon and alloy steel metallurgy, casting processes and techniques, metallurgy for non-metallurgists, metallurgical failure analysis and prevention, non-ferrous alloys, and stainless steel metallurgy.
It is imperative that not only new personnel, but existing people in the industry continue to learn. New problems need new solutions and new materials need new techniques. These courses will not just strengthen the holistic foundation of knowledge in the industry, but hopefully provide attendees with a platform from which they can continue to push the boundaries of metallurgy.
