ASYLUM RESEARCH, Roger Proksch, President
AZoM conducted a series of interviews at the 2007 MRS Fall Meeting in Boston between November 27 and 29. Here's what one of the exhibitors had to say when asked about their latest developments, products and technologies.
Asylum Research are an AFM manufacturer who have been around since 1999. Their latest offerings are the Piezo Force Response Microscope (PFM) and the High Voltage Module for AFM's.
The Piezo Force Response Microscope from Asylum Research decouples the topography and piezo response signals which overcomes problems associated with many other systems. It also increases the number of materials that can be examined using PFM techniques.
The high voltage module enables users to apply voltages of ±220V which is sufficient to excite weak piezoelectric materials, allowing the examination of ferroelectric and biological electromechanical materials.
"The Asylum Research PFM allows users to overcome difficulties associated with conventional PFM's and the new high voltage module allows investigation of ferroelectrics and biological electromechanical materials."
