THERMO FISHER SCIENTIFIC, Jon Shein, Director Global Marketing for NITON Analyzers
AZoM conducted a series of interviews at the 2007 MRS Fall Meeting in Boston between November 27 and 29. Here's what one of the exhibitors had to say when asked about their latest developments, products and technologies.
Jon introduces us to the XL3, Thermo Niton's latest handheld XRF analyzer. He outlines the range of elements that it can measure and discusses some of its many application areas.
Perhaps the main features of the XL3 is its ability to measure faster, more accurately and more precisely than anything that was introduced onto the market before it, meaning that it can take more measurements in a shorter period, which in turn leads to greater control over processes.
"The most recent application that Thermo Niton has been developing for the XL3 is the screening of toys and other consumer goods for lead and other heavy metals."
