Can you tell us about the company and why you are here today?
Universal Marking Systems manufacture and supply industrial part marking equipment. We've been established since 1963. We manufacture our own range of electrochemical marking equipment, which is good for marking metals. It's a low cost system and you get real high quality marks. That's our laser mark. It's used widely in aerospace. It's written into a lot of standards, automotive as well, medical, various other industries. We've also recently become sole distributor in the UK for the Technomark range of dot peen equipment. We've got OEM status for that equipment. We've got a really close partnership with them.
What does the dot peen equipment do?
The dot peen equipment is for in depth marking, metals, again, across all of industry. We have a whole range of bench top combo. The combo is unique in the market because it combines a handheld and a bench top system all in one. It also has a unique technology called IDI, which enables you to mark across an uneven surface in one marking cycle. We also represent them for laser, fiber laser marking as well.
Which industries will benefit from this product?
What we do is traceability identification so it spans the whole of industry. Anybody that needs to mark a component, a final product for feasibility, it can be a serial number, a part number, a data matrix code, it could be a logo or graphic, batch code or bank code. Anybody that needs to do that will need a piece of marking equipment to do so. We assess companies, go on site, assess what they need to do and then we can recommend the right type of marking technology.
