Introduction
Alloy steels are designated by AISI four-digit numbers. They comprise different forms of steels exceeding the composition limits of B C, Mo, Si, Ni, Va, and Mn set for carbon steels. They respond more quickly to mechanical and heat treatments than carbon steels.
