Double-Sided Acrylic Foam Tape with Outstanding Adhesion

Norbond® A7600 Series from Saint-Gobain® is a high-performance double-sided acrylic foam tape with excellent viscoelastic and adhesion properties. The tape provides suitable bonding performance for a number of exterior and interior industrial applications.

A7600 has been designed for sturdy, long-lasting adhesion, thus surpassing industry standards for shear strength and bonding to substrates with high surface energy, even at higher temperatures.

A7600 is particularly engineered to offer the following features:

  • Stress and shock absorption
  • Long-lasting adhesion at higher temperature
  • Excellent conformability and resistance to dynamic stress loads
  • Superior performance in tensile, peel, and dynamic shear adhesion
  • Improved short-term adhesion performance to help assist in field assembly

Available Sizes

  • Standard thickness: 1.1 mm (.043″)
  • Master roll size: 800 mm (31.5″) × 33 m (108 ft)
  • Jumbo roll size: 800 mm (31.5″) × 300 m (984 ft)

Applications

  • Bus, truck, and trailer roof bow bonding
  • Bus, truck, and trailer skin bonding
  • Replacing permanent fastening systems (welds, rivets, and liquid adhesives) used in common industrial applications

Important Instructions

  • Since Saint-Gobain cannot predict or regulate every probable application, it is strongly recommended to test this product under individual application settings before commercial use.
  • Surfaces have to be clean and free of dust, oil, moisture, grease, and dirt. Isopropyl alcohol is ideal for cleaning the surface.
  • Apply an even pressure of 103 kPa (15 psi) to boost optimal contact between the tape and the material to be bonded. The application temperature must be between 16 °C and 52 °C (between 60 °F and 125 °F). Applying these tapes at temperatures below 16 °C (60 °F) is not recommended as the adhesive does not flow in this setting and can cause poor bonding.
  • The adhesion between the substrate and the tape improves with time, usually reaching final bond strength in 72 hours. The adhesion process can be accelerated by heating the product over 40 °C (105 °F).

Shelf Life

The shelf life for this product is 24 months after the date of manufacture, provided it is stored in original packaging at 50% relative humidity and temperatures of up to 21 °C (70 °F).
