Nanotechnology

Nanoscale technology is a suite of techniques used to manipulate matter at the scale of atoms and molecules. "Nano" is a measurement - not an object. Unlike "biotechnology," where you know that bios (life) is being manipulated, "nanotechnology" speaks solely to scale.
Journals
The Journal of Vacuum Science and Technology B is devoted to reports of original research, review articles, and Critical Review articles. The JVST B has been established to provide a vehicle for the publication of research dealing with microelectronics and nanometer structures.
Nano Today is the international magazine for researchers with interests across the whole of nanoscience and technology and is now covered by Thomson Scientific. Through its unique mixture of peer-reviewed articles, the latest research news, and information on key developments, Nano Today provides comprehensive coverage.
Nanoscale Research Letters (NRL) provides an interdisciplinary forum for communication of scientific and technological advances in the creation and use of objects at the nanometer scale.
Nano Letters reports on fundamental research in all branches of the theory and practice of nanoscience and nanotechnology, providing rapid disclosure of the key elements of a study, publishing preliminary, experimental, and theoretical results on the physical, chemical, and biological phenomena, along with processes and applications of structures within the nanoscale range.
Published monthly, ACS Nano is an international forum for the communication of comprehensive articles on nanoscience and nanotechnology research at the interfaces of chemistry, biology, materials science, physics, and engineering. Moreover, the journal helps facilitate communication among scientists from these research communities in developing new research opportunities, advancing the field through new discoveries, and reaching out to scientists at all levels.
Nano Research will publish its first issue in July of 2008, and monthly afterwards. The first issues will contain inaugural articles by leading scientists including Charles Lieber, Zhonglin Wang, Horst Weller, Reshef Tenne, Peidong Yang and James Heath. The journal is open for submission of regular and review articles.
Focusing on R&D in advanced materials, particularly their application, Materials Technology emphasises technology transfer and the communication of information of practical value to its readers through a variety of carefully tailored formats. Coverage reflects the growing emphasis on manipulation and characterisation of structures and functional features down to the nanoscale. Recent and forthcoming theme issues cover technical textiles, light metals and biomaterials and bio-medical engineering.
International Materials Reviews provides authoritative introductions to current thinking and developments in materials science and engineering. Specially commissioned critical assessments of the literature give rigorous and concise overviews of important and rapidly developing topics. These reviews provide both an entry point into the field and the opportunity for specialists to update their knowledge.
Advances in Applied Ceramics is a showcase for innovative research in high performance ceramics. Peer-reviewed articles report original research on the processing, fabrication, characterisation and applications of functional and engineering ceramics. A particular focus is the control and tailoring of micro-and nanostructure for end use requirements. Special issues guest-edited by leading figures in the ceramics field provide unrivalled examination of 'hot topics'.
