Arkema to Distribute EVOH Copolymers for Taiwanese Manufacturer

Arkema is joining forces with Taiwanese chemicals manufacturer Chang Chun Petrochemicals Co. Ltd to distribute its Evasin EVOH copolymers. EVOH (Ethylene - Vinyl Alcohol) is a high barrier polymer used in multilayer film for food Packaging, Automotive and Construction applications. Evasin is to be marketed alongside Arkema's Orevac and Lotader binders.

This worldwide agreement grants in particular Arkema as exclusive distributorship for Evasin EVOH in Europe. EVOH is a specialty copolymer with very high barrier properties to gas (oxygen, carbon dioxide), aromatics and hydrocarbons. These characteristics, together with excellent transparency and good processability, have made this the reference product among barrier polymers, in particular for multilayer food packaging, automotive fuel tank and heating pipe markets. Chang Chun Petrochemicals is the world's 3rd largest EVOH producer.

Arkema features among the major players in functional polyolefins with its Orevac and Lotader brands. They are used in particular as binders for multilayer barrier structures. By providing a binder polymer/barrier polymer global package to food packaging manufacturers and film processors, Arkema offers a unique entry point for its customers, including enhanced technical and commercial support.
