Saudi Arabian Airlines New Boeing 777-300ER's to get Carbon Brakes from Goodrich

Goodrich Corporation (NYSE: GR) has been selected to supply wheels and carbon brakes on Saudi Arabian Airlines' fleet of 12 new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. This selection complements Saudi Arabian's existing Goodrich-equipped fleet of 777-200 and 747-400 aircraft, making Goodrich the preferred supplier for Saudi Arabian's wide-body fleets. Saudi Arabian's first 777-300ER aircraft is scheduled to be delivered in January 2012.

Goodrich's 777-300ER carbon brake uses proprietary DURACARB carbon material. The DURACARB carbon provides exceptional brake performance and a 35 percent brake life advantage over competitive equipment.

According to Jim Wharton, vice president of sales and program management for Goodrich's Aircraft Wheels and Brakes business, "Goodrich is excited about the opportunity to provide carbon brakes to Saudi Arabian on another wide-body program. Our DURACARB carbon material continues to demonstrate superior brake life performance resulting in a lower overall cost of ownership for the airlines."

Based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia's flag carrier was founded in September 1946 and operates domestic and international scheduled flights to over 90 destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe and North America.

Goodrich Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, is a global supplier of systems and services to aerospace, defense and homeland security markets. With one of the most strategically diversified portfolios of products in the industry, Goodrich serves a global customer base with significant worldwide manufacturing and service facilities.
