Goodrich, a global supplier of products and services to the defense and aerospace industries, will feature its advanced marine composite products, as well as acoustic materials at the annual Sea-Air-Space Exposition of the Navy League.
The event will be held from April 16 to18, 2012 in National Harbor, Maryland and it will bring together the US defense industrial base, key military decision makers and private-sector companies.
Jacksonville, Florida-based Engineered Polymer Products (EPP) business of Goodrich is an exclusive supplier of sonar domes to various U.S. Navy vessels for over 40 years. On January 9, 2012, EPP has supplied its 336th sonar dome rubber window (SDRW), an acoustically transparent housing, to the U.S. Navy. The ship’s sonar system comprises a sensor portion that contains SDRWs and sonar transducer arrays.
EPP team is specialized in developing, producing, testing and maintaining structural composite and acoustic products. The products are deployed in a wide range of Navy vessels, as well as in commercial passenger aircraft. The acoustic windows and sonar domes from EPP are some of the most durable parts in the ship. James Pollock, VP of military programs at Goodrich Aerostructures, stated that the company has extensive experience in the manufacture of high-quality components, which are useful to enhance anti-submarine warfare capabilities for the surface fleet of the US Navy.
