Dow Corning Boost Support for Chinese Earthquake Victims

International relief efforts have continued to increase in the wake of the recent earthquake disaster in China’s Sichuan province. As aid from around the world continues to pour into the region, Dow Corning Corporation has announced plans to help boost employee support of the relief efforts through a global one-to-one matching gift program. To date, approximately $200,000 in donations, corporate gifts, and employee givebacks have been pledged to the relief effort.

Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province and located near the earthquake epicenter, is home to a Dow Corning sales office. While no injuries or damage to Dow Corning employees or facilities was reported, the enormity of the situation prompted an immediate response from Dow Corning employees around the world.

“From local donations to support from sites around the globe, the response from our employees truly underscores Dow Corning’s strong commitment to the communities in which we operate,” said Tom Cook, President, Dow Corning China. “The amount of caring and support shown by our employees has been absolutely amazing.”
