Seminars to Provide Advanced Solutions for Heat Treat Furnace Atmospheres

To provide advanced solutions for heat treat furnace atmospheres, a special one-day seminar for heat treaters will be held next month in Seattle and in Houston. The Atmospheres and Quenching Seminar, presented by Air Products and Surface Combustion, will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at the Doubletree Hotel Seattle Airport, and on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at Brady’s Landing in Houston.

The technical program will cover atmosphere options for annealing, nitriding, sintering, and brazing, and will also cover quenching care, vacuum, carburizing and maintenance processing. The influence of atmosphere composition on product quality, process controls and flammability limits, and atmosphere troubleshooting and safety considerations will also be discussed.

Industry experts who will present at the Seattle seminar include Air Products engineers John Dwyer and Rob Hostinak; Surface Combustion engineers Ralph Poor and Bill Cleary; Houghton International technical specialist Scott MacKenzie, and “The Heat Treat Doctor,” Dan Herring.
