BAE Systems Interested in Acquiring TRW

Europe’s largest defence supplier, BAE Systems (formerly British Aerospace) indicated that it was interested in acquiring the US defence industry group TRW.

Northrop Grumman have already made a hostile bid to acquire TRW for US$6.7billion. Any agreements between Northrop and TRW are set to expire on Friday, while talks have begun between TRW and BAE.

BAE already have investments in the US defence industry and are reported to be the sixth larget supplier to the Pentagon. If BAE were to acquire TRW, it would require pentagon approval.
