A new air separation plant has been opened by Praxair, one of the leading industrial gases companies in North America and South America, to deliver gases to Alabama-based stainless steel and carbon processing facilities of ThyssenKrupp, an integrated materials and technology company.

The new unit has a capacity to produce 400 tons of industrial gases per day. In addition, it will produce liquefied industrial gases to meet the growing customer base in Alabama.

Kevin Foti, VP of North American Industrial Gases business of Praxair, stated that the company is offering a cost-effective solution to sustain ThyssenKrupp's investment in the Southeast U.S. The new facility also reinforces Praxair's footprint in Alabama and Gulf States.

ThyssenKrupp has eight business regions that focus on core competency fields of materials and technologies.

Praxair produces and distributes process, atmospheric and specialty gases as well as high-performance surface coatings. The company’s products benefit a wide range of industries, including food and beverage, electronics, metals, chemicals, energy, healthcare and aerospace.
