Senior Appointment In Asia Pacific For Freeman Technology

Powder characterisation company Freeman Technology (Tewkesbury, UK) has announced significant expansion into Asia with the appointment of Dr Nishil Malde as General Manager for Asia Pacific and the extension of its distribution agreement with Asia specialists DKSH, to now include China.

Managing Director Tim Freeman said: “Our business in Asia continues to grow and moving into China is an exciting development for Freeman Technology. I am delighted to confirm that we are partnering with DKSH to serve this hugely important market and together we have already installed an FT4 Powder Rheometer at the East China University of Science & Technology in Shanghai. It also gives me great pleasure to formally welcome Nishil Malde to the Freeman Technology team to steer our continuing developments in the Asia Pacific region.”

In 2011, Freeman Technology appointed DKSH, an established organisation that operates in 35 countries and has a particular focus on Asia, as its distribution partner for the FT4 Powder Rheometer in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Taiwan. This agreement has now been extended to include China where DKSH China has headquarters in Shanghai and regional offices at various locations around the country.

Dr Nishil Malde, who joined Freeman Technology in June 2012, is responsible for the company’s business in Asia Pacific, providing support for distribution partners in the region. He brings extensive sales and channel management experience in international markets as well as technical expertise and understanding of a wide variety of materials testing methodologies and applications.

Also supporting the establishment of the FT4 Powder Rheometer in China is Material Scientist and Product Manager for China, Dr Xiaowei Fu, who will be based in Shanghai. Dr Fu is moving back to China from the UK, having already worked for Freeman Technology for five years. Customers in China will benefit from his long experience with the FT4 Powder Rheometer and wealth of powder characterisation expertise.

The FT4 Powder Rheometer is a universal powder tester that uses patented dynamic methodology, automated shear cells and bulk property tests, including density, compressibility and permeability, to quantify powder properties in terms of flow and processability. It delivers data that maximise process and product understanding, accelerate R&D and formulation, and support process optimisation. With a decade of use and applications knowledge behind it, the FT4 Powder Rheometer is a proven and widely used tool that provides reliable and reproducible information.
