Alloy Steel International Signs Framework Contract with BHP Billiton

Alloy Steel International, Inc. announced today that its Australian subsidiary, Alloy Steel Australia (Int) Pty Ltd has signed a five year framework contract with BHP Billiton Iron Ore Pty Ltd (BHPBIO) for the supply of wear liners to its iron ore operations in the Pilbara area of Western Australia.

The AYSI group has been supplying Arcoplate to BHPBIO for over seven years. This contract provides a mutually beneficial framework for future supply until 2018.

AYSI CEO and inventor of Arcoplate, Mr. Gene Kostecki said: "We have been providing Arcoplate to various BHPBIO operations for a considerable time and in that time we have continued to work with BHPBIO and other key customers to improve our premium product in ways that meet their operational requirements. We appreciate BHPBIO's continued use of Arcoplate over the years, a fact that attests to our product's superior performance in the demanding mining and ore handling conditions they experience."

From the AYSI Group's perspective, the signing of this contract provides further confidence in the appropriateness of the expansion plans and the added incentive to see such plans implemented as soon as can be achieved.
