Alcan Complete Acquisition of Composites Materials Manufacturer Baltek

Alcan have just completed their acquisition of composite materials manufacturer Baltek. The $35 million deal closed after having been approved by Baltek shareholders.

Following the acquisition, Baltek will be renamed Alcan Baltek Corp and will become part of the Alcan’s composites division.

The acquisition will also give Alcan and its existing customers access to a range of composite materials such as balsa core materials and structural foams which are used in the manufacture of sandwich structures, composites materials and other lightweight structures. These materials are used in industries such as transportation, marine, wind power and aerospace.
