How CVD Coating Services Enable State of the Art Semiconductor Fabrication

In this webinar, Jim Mattzela, PhD will discuss how the world leaders of the semiconductor industry have utilized SilcoTek coatings to enable state-of-the-art semiconductor fabrication.

Viewers can expect to learn:

  • The dangers of metal ion contamination in environments where purity is required
  • The importance of an inert, amorphous silicon barrier between the metal surface and corrosive etch gases
  • How to lower outgassing and improve pump-down after maintenance by improving moisture and oxidation resistance

All of these learnings contribute to understanding how SilcoTek coatings have helped reduce the cost of ownership for the largest semiconductor fabs in the world.

Speakers

Jim Mattzela, PhD

Semiconductor Market Manager, SilcoTek

Jim earned his master's degree in Applied Physics from DePaul University. He went on to earn a PhD ABD in Materials Science and Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University. He has completed extensive post-graduate work on growth and characterization of lattice mismatched materials, growth and characterization of silicon nanowires, and characterization of thin film coatings. Jim joined the Restek's Performance Coatings Division (RPC) in 2006. He specialized in optimizing and improving our silicon deposition processes. After RPC spun off from Restek, to form SilcoTek, Jim focused his efforts and expertise on working with customers within the semiconductor market to improve customer products and performance.
