Handheld Raman for Narcotics and Explosives: TacticID®-1064 ST

TacticID®-1064 ST—a 1064-nm handheld Raman analyzer offered by B&W Tek—enables rapid field detection of narcotics, explosives and other suspicious materials.

With the help of this analyzer, samples can be non-destructively examined through transparent and opaque packaging. The threat level of the sample is clearly displayed for safety personnel, first responders, bomb squads, law enforcement, hazmat teams and customs and border patrol to act immediately with very little sample contact.

The TacticID-1064 ST analyzer uses a combination of established Raman spectroscopy and patented STRaman® technology, enabling users to achieve real-time actionable detection of unfamiliar pharmaceutical drugs, narcotics, chemicals, explosives* and a host of other substances even through opaque barriers. This aspect considerably reduces response time, operational uncertainty and exposure to samples.

Equipped with 1064-nm laser excitation and the see-through adapter, the TacticID-1064 ST analyzer scans a larger sample area, creating a fluorescence-free spectrum without burning the samples. This enables users to directly detect colored and dark materials, inhomogeneous materials and mixtures and tough street samples through packaging.

Key Features

Customized Libraries

To stay one step ahead of the evolving threats, user-generated library items can be added easily and quickly.

Non-Destructive Analysis

User safety is increased by scanning through envelopes, bottles, plastics and other opaque and translucent packaging materials.

Critical Component Mixture ID

Components and threat level inside a mixed sample can be identified.

On-Board Camera

With the onboard camera, pictures can be taken at the scene and sample information can be recorded. The test report contains both photos and notes.

Connectivity

Users can handle data, update software or libraries, send results, etc. through a Wi-Fi connection, USB, or secured wireless Bluetooth.

Safety Information on Screen

The TacticID-1064 ST analyzer includes GHS and NFPA704 safety information displays and also features red, green and yellow result screens that offer instant visual safety data.

Touch Screen Quick Notes

Custom notes can be added to a scan result anytime and anywhere by simply touching the screen interface.

See-Through Capabilities

Users can scan through opaque packaging, like colored plastic, paper and other materials that can be penetrated by light to detect the material inside.
