Carlisle Companies Incorporated (NYSE:CSL) announced today that it has acquired privately-held Electronic Cable Specialists, Inc. (ECS), a leading designer and manufacturer of electrical and structural products and services for the aviation, medical and industrial markets. ECS offers customer-specific solutions ranging from individual electrical and structural products to fully integrated systems to support airframe manufacturers, aircraft operators and electronic equipment OEM's worldwide. The company's annual sales are $50 million and it is headquartered in Franklin, Wisconsin with various distribution points in the US, France and the United Kingdom. ECS will operate as part of Carlisle Interconnect Technologies.
ECS's core products consist of highly-engineered wire and cable assemblies, control panels and instrumentation to support avionics systems for general aviation, air transport and military aircraft. ECS has a full staff of electrical, mechanical and systems engineers to provide product design and certification services for the company's customers, including over 150 major airlines, all major aircraft manufacturers and a number of military programs. The company is a leading supplier of components and systems for in-flight entertainment and broadband applications for commercial airliners.
