The Chinese Academy of Sciences and Zhejiang to Further Cooperation

CAS and Zhejiang Province will upgrade their cooperation efforts in the coming years, vowed the CAS President Lu Yongxiang and Zhejiang Provincial Governor Xi Jinping at their recent meeting at CAS headquarters in Beijing.

Recent years have witnessed sound development of the S&T-based collaboration in various forms and levels between the two sides. They have join forces to set up more than 60 innovation platforms, including research institutes, R&D bodies at business enterprises and centers for technology transfer. The CAS Jingbo Institute for Materials Technology and Engineering is one good example in this regard. A total of 521 cooperation projects have been implemented, leading to handsome economic returns, such as 5.5 billion yuan in output value and 790 million yuan in profits and taxes.
