Brazillian Manufacturer Using More Titanium Dioxide

DuPont Titanium Technologies (DTT) recently hosted an educational visit for Cromex, a leading Brazilian consumer of titanium dioxide (TiO2). Cromex representatives were introduced to DuPont science and innovation in Wilmington, Del.

The Brazilian plastics market has undergone considerable growth in the last few years, mostly because of the expansion of the export market for Brazilian-made plastic finished goods. Since 2002, the total exports of finished plastic goods, including films for packaging and rigid plastics for construction, have increased by 165 percent. For DTT, the plastics finished product growth in Brazil reflects an increasing demand for TiO2.

“DuPont has many diverse offerings and I am thoroughly impressed with how the company makes innovative science practical,” said Ana Morales, technical director, Cromex.
