Premiere Polymer Provider Expands into Japan

PolyOne Corporation, a premier provider of specialized polymer materials, services and solutions, announced today that it has formed PolyOne Japan Kabushiki Kaisha (PolyOne Japan Ltd.). The new company, which has established an office in Tokyo and named Mr. Masato Sakuma business development manager for Japan, will focus on gaining specification with Japanese original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and the importation of products for use by Japanese polymer processors.

We are well-positioned to serve the needs of the key industries in the country, including electronics, automotive, packaging, and bio-related materials.”

Kurt Schuering, PolyOne’s vice president of corporate accounts, will oversee the business development operations of PolyOne Japan Ltd. “Working with Japan’s key OEMs, we intend to leverage PolyOne’s full bundle of materials and services,” Schuering said. “Our technical expertise, problem-solving skills and global reach will enable us to drive market penetration. By acting as a global consultant to customers, we are able to understand and respond to a wide variety of their needs, initiatives and operational issues.”
