BASF, one of the world’s leading chemical companies, has expanded its wide
range of high efficiency defoamers used for industrial coatings.
Efka 2010 is a new silicone-free defoamer added to the industrial coating
product portfolio. It is ideal for application in high gloss solvent-borne
coating technologies and can be employed for pigmented and non-pigmented
systems.
The silicone-free defoamer is compatible with various systems, including
acid-cured coatings, stoving-cured coatings, 2k polyurethane-cured coatings,
cold-cured epoxy coatings and nitrocellulose and alkyd lacquers. Efka 2010’s
enhanced combination of exceptional defoaming efficiency and no intrusion on
gloss is a significant benefit to formulators. High clarity of the product is
maintained before and after curing process, which allows the production of
superior quality surfaces without defects for industrial coating applications.
Based on BASF’s polymerization technology, Efka 2010 is an ideal solution to
achieve high performance defoaming as well as excellent system compatibility,
producing high gloss in the final product application. Efka 2010 silicone-free
defoamer is mainly developed for producing formulations in the flooring and
furniture sectors and its applications can further be expanded into automotive
and other industries. The product is currently available in China, North America
and Europe.
