WACKER has showcased its innovative silicone and polymer products at PAINT INDIA 2012, which has been held from February 23 to 25 in Mumbai, India. SILRES IC 368, SILRES BS 300, VINNAPAS EP 3360, VINNOL H 30/48 M and VINNAPAS 8034 H are few solutions featured at the event.
SILRES IC 368 is a new silicone resin intermediate that has been unveiled to the Indian paints and coatings industry. The solvent-free resin enhances the long-term protection offered by surface coatings and paints. The benefits offered by the material are enhanced UV resistance, higher protection against weathering, increased gloss retention and a longer functional life. SILRES IC 368 is an ideal alternative to hydroxyl functional polyesters, hydroxyl functional acrylic resins and alkyd resins, which are utilized for industrial coating applications. WACKER has developed SILRES BS 300 line of silicone additives for interior paints. The additives offer an enhanced wetting over the paint surface, thus ensuring even and smooth drying.
WACKER's VINNAPAS EP 3360 is a polymer dispersion which can be used to formulate low-odor interior paints with low VOC and no additional solvents. It has excellent formulation and scrub resistance properties. VINNAPAS 8034 H polymer binder from WACKER improves dry-mix mortars employed in exterior hydrophobic applications. It is ideal for all facade applications, including grout mortars, cementitious powder paints, renders and plasters. VINNAPAS 8034 H offers better flexibility, superior adhesion to all substrates, exceptional water protection and enhanced workability. VINNOL H 30/48 M is a surface coating resin suitable for application in the food and pharmaceutical packaging markets.
WACKER has also exhibited several other products, including SILRES MSE 100 liquid methoxyfunctional methyl polysiloxane resin for heat-resistant coating application, SILRES BS silicone resin emulsion paints ideal for effective facade protection, and SILRES HP 2000 amino-functional silicone resin for highly weather-resistant coatings.
