IOM3 to Present Findings on International Materials Research

The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining was commissioned by Engineering, Physical Sciences Research Council EPSRC to conduct an International Review of Materials Research earlier this year, and the results of this review are now available.

This was the fourth in a series of reviews aimed at providing international commentary on the core fields of the UK’s science and engineering research base, and was conducted by the Institute in conjunction with the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Institute of Physics and the Royal Academy of Engineering.

The review will be presented at an open forum to be held at the Institute’s headquarters in London on Tuesday 10th December. The meeting is being held to enable the materials research community to discuss the report's main conclusions and to provide an opportunity to engage with the EPSRC regarding the review’s recommendations.

The event will include a presentation of the report from the Chairman of the international panel, Professor Anthony G. Evans (University of California, Santa Barbara) and will be attended by Professor John O'Reilly, CEO of EPSRC. Full details of the programme and a registration form can be found by clicking here.
