Konarka Adds Environmental Expert to Advisory Council

Konarka Technologies, Inc., an innovator in developing and commercializing power plastics that convert light to energy, today announced Walter Rosenberg, founder of Osprey Consulting, Inc. and a longtime environmental responsibility expert, joined the Company as an advisor. Rosenberg will offer proactive guidance to Konarka’s senior management team regarding health, safety and environmental sustainability strategy development.

Prior to starting Osprey Consulting, Rosenberg was vice president of corporate, social and environmental responsibility for HP (NYSE, Nasdaq: HPQ). He directed HP’s efforts to be recognized as a leader in global citizenship and was responsible for the development of HP’s programs, policies and strategies in the areas of customer and employee data privacy, corporate business practices, social responsibility and environmental sustainability.

Prior to the HP merger with Compaq Computer Corporation in 2002, Rosenberg served as the corporate director of environmental, health and safety for Compaq, focusing on management systems, governance processes, mergers/acquisitions and remediation. Rosenberg also spent eight years as an environmental, health and safety specialist in the oil refining and semiconductor manufacturing industries, with companies such as Texaco USA (now Chevron Corporation, concentrating on air, water and hazardous waste issues.

“Environmental sustainability is a growing concern for major corporations and should be paramount for any clean or green company,” said Rosenberg. “I’m looking forward to advising Howard and the senior management team on Konarka’s processes and policies, which are already strong, effective and environmentally friendly.”

Rosenberg holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Chemistry from Northern Arizona University and a Master of Science degree in Hazardous and Waste Material Management from Southern Methodist University. He serves on the Board of Directors for the World Environment Center, an independent, non-profit, non-advocacy organization promoting sustainable development and the efficient use of natural resources in multinational corporations.
