Alcan to Invest US$35 Million in New Slovakian Aluminum Extrusion Plant

Alcan announced today that it plans to invest US$35 million in a new aluminum extrusion plant in Slovakia to produce profiles mostly for the building and construction sectors in Eastern Europe. The new facility will have two aluminum extrusion press lines, and will be part of Alcan Extruded Products, a subsidiary of Alcan’s Engineered Products business group.

Pending final approval from local authorities, production is expected to start in early 2007. The facility will employ approximately 200 people.
