YSI, a Xylem brand, is launching the Pro20i handheld DO meter at WEFTEC 2016 in New Orleans, as part of their portable and lab equipment offering to the wastewater market.
YSI will be in Xylem booth #2529 at WEFTEC 2016, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana September 26-29.
The Pro20i is a ruggedized, easy-to-use, reliable, and highly accurate handheld meter, ideal for measuring DO and temperature for wastewater facilities. Operators can use the Pro20i to spot check their treatment process, to confirm the accuracy of online instrumentation, and to test the effluent and the receiving waters for compliance.
Similar to the YSI Pro20 handheld in performance, the Pro20i has an integrated cable versus a removable cable, and as a result comes in at a lower price point than the Pro20.
We’ve had a lot of success with the well-established Pro20. And we wanted to provide the same performance but at a more affordable price. With the integrated cable the Pro20i provides the best of both worlds. It’s what our customers have been asking for, and we felt it was important to make it happen.

Whether it’s monitoring the aeration basin or checking receiving waters for your permit, the Pro20i sensors meet EPA approval for wastewater compliance reporting. The Pro20i can be used with the longer-life Polarographic dissolved oxygen sensor or the instant-on Galvanic dissolved oxygen sensor. Sensors for the handheld Pro20i come with polyethylene CAP membranes, requiring less stirring of sample waters and providing faster results. The DO electrode is also user-replaceable for easy maintenance and upkeep. The Pro20i is available with cable length options of one, four, or ten meters.
