DuPont Acquires Auto/Electrical Technology from Eastman

Dupont Engineering Polymers have acquired certain products of Eastman Chemical Company. The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.

The acquisition affects Eastman’s high performance crystalline plastics business with products including:

  • Eastman’s Titan® LCP liquid crystal polymer
  • Thermx® PCT a family of polycyclohexylene dimethyl terephthalate products
  • Thermx® EG reinforced PET thermoplastics and polyester resins

The acquisition only involves technology rights and intellectual property such as formulations and marketing information. Company assets and personnel are not affected by the acquisition.

The newly acquired products will be integrated into DuPont’s automotive and electrical/electronics product ranges, where they will compliment their existing offerings.
