This interactive webinar introduces Oxford Instruments new, time domain nuclear magnetic resonance (TD-NMR) instrument. This benchtop system is highly flexible and configurable and is designed for both academic and industrial research. Providing analyses over a wide temperature range, pulsed field gradients to monitor diffusion, and different nuclei options, it characterises important sample properties across food science, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, polymers, batteries, concrete, and chemical research. 

The webinar will detail both the instrument capabilities and applications, including droplet size distribution in emulsions, sedimentation of suspensions, and porous media characterisation.

About the event speakers: 

Dr Kevin Nott has been at Oxford Instruments since 2005, firstly as an applications specialist and then product manager. During this time, he has developed protocols and applications that are used by various industries globally.  Kevin was previously at the University of Cambridge where he used Time Domain NMR and MRI measurements for studying food and food processing.

Dr Tatiana Monaretto joined Oxford Instruments last October as a TD-NMR application scientist. She completed her PhD in Physical Chemistry, specializing in developing TD-NMR method University of São Paulo in Brazil. She also has conducted post-doctoral research using TD-NMR/MRI to study food and materials in various research groups in France.

Dr Rosie Jones graduated with a BSc and MSc in GeoSciences and Geochemistry from the University of Leeds, and a PhD in Geology from the University of Edinburgh. She joined Oxford Instruments NanoAnalysis in 2019 after completing a Postdoctoral Research position at the University of Oxford. Rosie has always worked with a strong focus on analytical techniques, including SEM-EDS, EPMA-WDS, XRF and mass spectrometry. She is currently Business Manager for Magnetic Resonance and works with the product management team to develop NMR instrumentation and applications.
