X-Ray Fluorescence Analyzers

RSS
X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) is a common investigative technique capable of providing qualitative and quantitative data on the composition of a chemical sample. Analyzers are based on the principle that atoms absorb energy from the X-rays, become momentarily excited and then give off secondary X-rays. Just about every chemical element emits X-rays at a distinctive energy or 'fingerprint'. By exposing a sample to X-rays and then discovering both the power and characteristic energy of the released X-rays, an XRF analyzer can determine the kind and amount of elements in a sample. Common uses include determining the sulfur content of a crude oil product, cement analysis, scrap metal sorting and quality control in the tech industry.
