BUSS Showcases New Four-Flight MX Laboratory Kneader in International Trade Fairs

Switzerland-based Buss has announced that its new four-flight Laboratory Kneader MX 30 was showcased in the international trade fairs, including Plast in Milan, Chinaplas in Shanghai, NPE in Orlando and WIRE in Duesseldorf.

The first to feature four-flight technology: Designed for product batches upwards of 300 g, the BUSS Laboratory Kneader MX 30, shown here with three feeding devices and a discharge extruder, is suitable for the development of formulations and processes for the production of heat- and shear-sensitive compounds as well as highly filled polymer compounds

The company has already placed orders for the four-flight Laboratory BUSS Kneader MX 30 machines from the initial production. The new laboratory Kneader, along with its barrel assembly, was displayed in the opened position. The four-flight Kneader’s work principle was clearly observed through its low screw speed, which includes its oscillating and dual rotational motion of the screw. The traverse mixing and combined axial action of the screw ensure very high-quality of mixing in the laboratory Kneader.

The laboratory Kneader MX 30 features a screw with 30 mm diameter and improves the range of performance of MX Series at the lower end. The screw speed of the device is 800 rpm at the maximum. The Kneader’s temperature control system allows processing temperatures to a maximum of up to 280°C. The MX 30 is ideal for use in shear- and heat-sensitive polymer compounding and for manufacturing compounds that are filled with strong fillers.

This laboratory Kneader has been equipped with a pelletizer, a discharge extruder, and an accessible control system having touch panel, and it is technically flexible in terms of process. BUSS specifically designed this device for R&D and for other applications such as development and optimization of process and formulation. The MX 30 laboratory Kneader is the first to incorporate new four-flight technology. The processing parameters received from the MX 30 Kneaders can be upgraded and applied to huge MX laboratory Kneaders. The hinged Kneader barrel assembly offers more benefits, wherein the improvements found in the compounding method in the different barrel zones can be visually confirmed.

The MX 30 laboratory extruder is suitable for product and formulation progress and is a flexible compounding series for manufacturing of sample quantities for small-batch compound production and for the customers’ trials. Any specification can be met with the help of an optional range of accessories in the MX 30 Kneader.
