John Deere Announce Plans for Fuel Cell Powered Commercial Vehicles

John Deere and Company announced to day that they are working with Canadian fuel cell manufacturer Hydrogenics Corp to develop a fuel cell powered commercial work vehicle.

The proposed vehicle will serve as a technology guide as Deere look to change many of their vehicles to electric power. Testing of the fuel cell powered vehicle is intended to start in the Spring of 2003 at various demonstration sites across the US.

These changes are being looked at to boost performance and efficiency as well as to reduce emissions and noise.

John Deere are currently sharing their plans for the modified Pro-Gator Utility Vehicle at this weeks Electric Transportation Industry Conference in Florida, USA.
