Century Aluminium Complete Acquisition of Aluminium Reduction Plant

Century Aluminium have just completed the acquisition of the Hawesville, Kentucky, USA aluminium reduction plant from Glencore International AG. This consisted of the purchase of the remaining 20% share which they did not already own.

Century now own 525,000 tons per year of aluminium capacity distributed as follows:

  • 244,000 tons per year at Hawesville, Kentucky
  • 177,000 tons per year at Ravenswood, West Virginia
  • A 49.67% share of 222,000 tons per year at Mt Holly, South Carolina
