Mid-Mountain has designed a lightweight silicone coated fabric named ARMATEX® SilverStar (Figure 1) in response to the increasing demand for an visually pleasing fabric. The fabric has a reflective silver color to achieve better insulation performance.
It is supplied in finished weights of 10 oz/sy and 13 oz/sy, providing a lighter weight option to the conventional 17 oz/sy coated fabric employed in the fabrication of reusable/removable insulation blankets and pads. SilverStar exhibits improved thermal insulation properties despite its lightweight nature, offering the potential for significant energy savings.
The ARMATEX® SilverStar is produced from a fiberglass base fabric with a proprietary silicone coating and characteristic patterns. Its appearance is unique from other coated fabrics available on the market. The ARMATEX® SilverStar is an ideal solution for applications demanding aesthetics, and high abrasion resistance and temperature resistance properties.
