Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), also known as Photon Correlation Spectroscopy is a well established technique for determining apparent molecular size, in which laser light is shone on a solution. The concept uses the idea that small particles in a suspension move in a random. Shining a monochromatic light beam, such as a laser, onto a solution with spherical particles in Brownian motion causes a Doppler Shift when the light hits the moving particle, changing the wavelength of the incoming light.

Featured Equipment
The Zetasizer μV adds the power of advanced light scattering techniques to your laboratory to improve accuracy, reliability and ease of use for the characterization of protein solutions.
Other Equipment
The DynaPro® NanoStar® from Wyatt Technology is a cuvette-based dynamic light scattering (DLS) device used for studying promiscuous inhibitors, protein solutions, and many types of macromolecules or nanoparticles in solution.
The Möbius® zeta potential analyzer from Wyatt Technology offers dependable, reproducible, and non-destructive electrophoretic mobility and zeta potential measurements of macromolecules less than 2nm in radius, as well as micron-size nanoparticles, in most aqueous buffers.
The advanced Outotec PSI® 500 technology provides you with real-time information, which can be used to significantly improve your operations. Particle size monitoring and control improves throughput and helps to maintain target grind in the grinding circuit. Additionally, it improves the downstream process by minimizing reagent consumption, increasing recoveries and making thickening and filtration more effective.
The DynaPro® Plate Reader II from Wyatt Technology offers high-throughput, automated dynamic light scattering (DLS) measurements on nanoparticle and macromolecular samples directly in situ in industry-standard 96, 384, or 1536 well microplates, using limited sample (1.5µL) and 5 seconds acquisition time per well.
The Saturn DigiSizer IITM from Micromeritics is the first commercially available particle sizing instrument to employ the light scattering analysis technique that utilizes advanced digital detection technology to deliver exceptionally high levels of resolution, accuracy, repeatability, and reproducibility.
The Malvern NanoSight LM10 instrument offers an easy-to-use, reproducible platform for nanoparticle characterization.
The miniDAWN™ TREOS® multi-angle light scattering (MALS) detector is compatible with most HPLC, GPC, Eclipse FFF or FPLC separation systems for measuring the absolute molecular weight, size as well as compliance of macromolecules and nanoparticles in solution without referring to calibration standards.
The Calypso® II biomolecular interaction system from Wyatt Technology interfaces with a Wyatt multi-angle light-scattering detector - miniDAWN™ TREOS® or DAWN® HELEOS® II to enable analysis of biomolecular interactions without the need for labelling or immobilization to establish affinity, accurate molecular stoichiometry and kinetics of self-assembly, aggregation or disassociation of macromolecular complexes with the aid of composition-gradient multi-angle light scattering (CG-MALS).
The Viscotek TDAmax system or as a stand-alone module, the Viscotek triple detector array (TDA) incorporates RI, light scattering, viscosity detectors.
The DAWN® HELEOS® II multi-angle light scattering (MALS) detector is compatible with most HPLC, GPLC, FPLC or Eclipse FFF separation systems for ascertaining the absolute size, molecular weight and conformation of nanoparticles and macromolecules in solution without referring to any calibration standards.
The Zetasizer Auto Plate Sampler automates Dynamic Light scattering measurements from samples in industry standard 96- or 384-well plates to add the power of advanced light scattering analysis to your laboratory. Automating the measurement procedure means that you can simply insert your plate of samples and press "start".
The DynaPro® Plate Reader II is designed to perform high-throughput, automated dynamic light scattering (DLS) measurements on macromolecular and nanoparticle samples.
