Bruker Reports Successful Launch of Tango FT-NIR at Pittcon

Bruker Corporation (NASDAQ: BRKR) reports at Pittcon 2012 their successful launch of the TANGO FT-NIR Spectrometer in August last year.

The TANGO is an innovative stand-alone FT-NIR (Fourier Transform Near Infrared) spectrometer, further expanding Bruker's existing industry-leading FT-NIR product range. TANGO is a robust, small footprint, very easy to use benchtop system with touch-screen operation for routine users.

The TANGO offers efficient and cost-effective analysis for the identification and quantification of constituents in a wide variety of application fields in the food, feed, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. TANGO is fully GMP and 21 CFR Part 11 compliant for working in regulated environments. The TANGO is available in two versions - one for measuring solids in reflection and one for measuring liquids in transmission.

The intuitive user interface of the TANGO quickly and securely guides the operator through the work flow. The new automated background measurements help untrained staff to operate the spectrometer securely and error free. The user interface is available in many languages to make sure that the TANGO is well-accepted by local operators. The TANGO demonstrates how easy NIR analysis can be. Its housing and touch-screen monitor are rugged and easy to clean, making it ideal for laboratory and for dusty environments.

Urban Faeh, President of Bruker Optics, commented: "We have been working closely together with our customers to develop a system which fulfils the major requirements of modern FT-NIR spectroscopy: robustness, high precision and straight-forward operator guidance. As we advance through 2012, we see that our efforts pay off. Many multinational companies now commit to the TANGO as the new workhorse in their laboratories. This month, we received an order of 13 systems from a large German animal feed manufacturer to equip their QC labs with latest technology. Customers very much appreciate that proven Bruker FT-NIR technology has been combined with easy-to-use touch screen operation and a small footprint, which makes TANGO ideal for their routine applications."

The TANGO complements Bruker's existing FT-NIR product range, consisting of the Multi-Purpose Analyzer MPA, which offers everything needed for the analysis of liquids, solids, powders and tablets. The MPA with its various measurement options is an ideal tool for sophisticated method development or for labs requiring a high degree of analytical flexibility. The Bruker process spectrometer MATRIX-F is the first industrially-hardened FT-NIR system that can withstand harsh environments. Its innovative design provides consistent high quality results, less down-time, direct methods transfer and access to new applications that other less sensitive and precise hardened instruments are incapable of.
