Masteel UK Limited's attendance at the Oil & Gas Expo in Rio De Janeiro has proved to be a major commercial success.
The company, who were represented at the exhibition by their Export Sales Director, Simon Ollerenshaw, shared a stand with Formont Ltda who are Masteel's strategic business partner in Brazil.
The show which included over 1200 exhibitors, attacted over 39,000 visitors with many of the the world's leading Oil & Gas companies in attendance.
Masteel used the exhibition to showcase a number of their product ranges including Petrobras N-1706 specification plates. The show also highlighted Masteel's range of high quality offshore steels grades including API 2H Grade 50 and API 2W Grade 50. The company's continual development in these product areas coupled with their ability to deliver project tonnages with a fast turnaround, proved to be of major interest to prospective clients attending the show.
Instant Returns
At the exhibition, Masteel were approached by a major fabricator in Brazil who had a material requirement for Petrobras specification plates in bespoke sizes and to a tight deadline.
With their sizeable slab stock of high quality and high specification carbon steel plates, Masteel were able to offer the fabricator a solution which provided the material to their exact requirements and on time and within budget. The client subsequently ordered 180 tonnes of Petrobas N-1706 Class B and C equivalent plates (360 tonnes in total). These plates were to ASTM/ASME A/SA 516 Grade 60 and Grade 70 respectively.
