FREE Workshop: ‘2D Materials Processing Technology’

On Thursday 7th April 2016, a ‘2D Materials Processing Technology’ workshop will take place at the University of Manchester that will include a wide range of talks presented by the University of Manchester National Graphene Institute, outside guest speakers and Oxford Instruments process and technology experts.

Ground breaking research into graphene and other 2D materials is taking place at The University of Manchester’s new National Graphene Institute using multiple plasma etch and deposition systems. These semiconductor processing tools are facilitating the potential applications of these materials in novel electronics and optoelectronics applications. The workshop is open to all those people working in industry and academia, with an interest in recent progress plus future trends in research and development, and the application of 2D materials.

This event offers attendees the opportunity to learn about current and future research into 2D materials processing, and to to meet the experts in their field in a relaxed environment. We are proud to offer tours of our new £61 million facility, designed with the goal to be the world-leading research centre dedicated to the development and commercialisation of graphene and other 2D materials, helping the UK to remain at the forefront of the commercialisation of this revolutionary material.

This workshop will let participants connect with their peers, ensuring this is a learning opportunity for us all.

In recent years there has been a great increase in 2D materials R&D worldwide, due to the impact that this area of research is expected to exert on tomorrow’s technologies and world economy.

Several national research projects as well as industrial companies are now active in graphene production and applications, with more set to follow. We are extremely pleased to host this event with the National Graphene Institute, where seminar participants will hear about and see the cutting-edge technology that will deliver its landmark research.
