Monitoring Emulsion Polymerization

Monitoring Emulsion Polymerization

As a technique based on light scattering rather than light absorption, Raman spectroscopy is uniquely suited for analysis of multi-phase liquid streams where boundary layers cause issues due to refraction when using absorption spectroscopy. Demonstration of the capability of Raman spectroscopy for tracking un-reacted monomer and comonomer during an olefin-based polymerization reaction in a batch reactor configuration has been achieved. Discussion of the analytical setup, model building, and batch trials will be included in this webinar.
