Chatillon Force Gauges for Packaging Test Applications

With global product transportation becoming highly dynamic, the packaging materials used for cargo protection are being taken for granted. Cardboard, wire ties polythene, nylon strapping and reinforced tape are a few packaging materials expected to meet highly stringent conditions.

Force measurement tools from AMETEK Test & Calibration Instruments (TCI) offer the required solutions to meet a customer’s packaging testing needs. These tools can be adapted for use in lab, on the production floor, or in the field.

Chatillon Force Gauges

AMETEK TCI Chatillon DFX II, DFE II and DFS II digital force gauges are ideal solutions for packaging testing.

The DF II series digital force gauges are designed with Bluetooth communication and high resolution colour displays. This allows them to be applied in complicated testing and quality control environments to the simplest “Go-No Go” applications. They can be adapted for use in handheld instruments or mounted to test stands.

Customers therefore can choose to buy a tool to match their specific force measurement requirements according to quality assurance and regulatory standards.

The DFS II digital force gauges were the first to be launched under the high-end category with inbuilt Bluetooth connectivity. This tool can be fitted with smart remote sensors or integral load cells for load and torque measurement. It can provide a high precision of 0.1% full scale.

The DFE II digital force gauge from AMETEK TCI is a compact, easy-to-use force gauge that is designed specifically for handheld or test stand applications. It is compatible with numerous standard gauge functions such as normal and peak readings, statistical results, set points, pass/fail results, high/low limits, load cell actuation and direction.

Both DFE II and DFS II tools are provided with full high resolution colour displays for easier reading and rapid recognition of unit status and results. They also have USB communication capability. The NEXYGEN DF software, created by AMETEK TCI, supports statistical quality control, and is a standard provision on the DFS II and optional on the DFE II.

The DFX II digital force gauge is an inexpensive solution for applications needing basic peak force measurement. It has a rechargeable power supply that allows up to 100 hours of usage on a single charge with high level precision, thereby making the DFX II suitable for field applications.

The four capacities available include, 10lbf, 50lbf, 100lbf and 200lbf. It is also equipped with an integral load cell with a measurement precision of ±0.3% of full scale.

Conclusion

AMETEK TCI Chatillon DFX II, DFE II and DFS II digital force gauges are 100% backward compatible with earlier test stands, software and accessories, thereby allowing them to be quickly combined into current test processes. The loads are displayed in ozf, gf, lbf, kgf and N units. The force gauges are supplied to customers in durable carrying cases and adaptors.
