A significant share of the global economy is dependent on the petroleum industry, which supplies a diverse range of products. Refined petroleum products become energy sources and materials for the production of various fine chemicals or plastic materials. Therefore, accurate determination of the composition of all raw and refined products is essential.
Titration is a convenient method for analyzing petroleum products. It can measure multiple parameters, including acid number, base number, bromine index, water content, and mercaptan content.
METTLER TOLEDO Excellence Titrators are flexible tools that can be modularly configured to measure all of the abovementioned parameters. Complete automation can be achieved using an InMotion autosampler or the InMotion KF, a Karl Fischer automated oven.
The following provides an overview of the most relevant titration analyses applicable to petroleum products, including several comprehensive application examples. The most important international standards for oil titration are listed at the beginning of each chapter.
A list of international standards related to the measurement of density, refractive index, and UV/VIS spectrophotometry is also included at the end of the brochure.
