Empower Materials, the largest commercial producer of QPAC Polyalkylene Carbonate sacrificial binders has established a significant presence in Asia. Empower Materials has recently signed several agreements with companies in Taiwan, Korea and Japan to market the QPAC products in Asia.
Empower Materials sees a large amount of interest in QPAC from Asia as a binder in electronic applications and Asia contains many of the major companies in this area. Some of the applications being evaluated in Asia using QPAC includes use as a binder in the production of ceramic tapes used in the manufacture of multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCC ), actuators or substrates.
In addition, matching electrode pastes containing polypropylene carbonate binder can be produced that have significant benefits for use in for example, MLC’s with nickel electrodes, actuator with copper electrodes or substrates with tungsten electrodes. Furthermore, their unique burn-out characteristecs are ideal for use in metal termination pastes hat contain glass powderst thatr need to be fired either in atmospheres of low oxygen content or at relatively low temperatures.
