CPAC Roof Tile Company is one of the top producers of roof tiles in Thailand and is also a sister company of Siam Cement Group of Thailand. In order to test the quality of the product being produced, the company enlisted the help of Tinius Olsen, a leading manufacturer and supplier of static tension and/or compression materials testing machines (Figure 1).

H50KT-W Machine
In order to test roof tiles measuring 300x400 to 400x400mm, CPAC used the H50KT-W machine (Figure 2) from Tinius Olsen, while implementing Quality Control. H50KT-W has a wide frame that is more than twice the standard test frames, thus making it suitable to test larger samples.

With the help of Tinius Olsen machine, CPAC is now able to do more than 50 to 100 samples testing per day. Furthermore, the attachment equipped in the machine also aids in holding the sample firmly prior to initiating the test. Tinius Olsen’s distributor, Calserve worked along with CPAC in designing this attachment so as to follow the standard TIS 535.
Conclusion
Tinius Olsen’s H50KT-W machine includes the latest electronics to deliver the ultimate in durability, accuracy, convenience and ease of use. The machine is suitable for uniaxial testing of materials such as foam and large finished components.
