Dynamic Image Analysis
Dynamic image analysis involves the continuous streaming of particles through a measurement volume controlled by a camera. This free movement results in random orientations of the particles, allowing for accurate determination of their actual shape and size distribution from various perspectives.
Understanding the particle morphology provides valuable insights into the characteristic properties of the sample material, in addition to size.
Sympatec’s advanced evaluation software automatically generates all relevant size and shape characteristics following each measurement.

Dynamic Image Analysis in Lab and Process
The modular image analysis sensor QICPIC integrates size and shape analysis of disperse particle systems within a size range of less than 1 µm to 34,000 µm. Key features include speed, reproducibility, and comparability of measurement results with optimized sample quantities.
Integrated image analysis sensors PICTOS, PICTIS, and PICCELL facilitate process-related particle size and shape characterization, covering a size range from 1 µm to 10,000 µm.
Integration into control systems or automated laboratories is achieved using standard communication protocols such as Modbus®, Profibus®, and OPC (Open Platform Communications) with TCP/IP, RS232, or RS485.
Dispersion and Dosing
As each particle's image is evaluated separately, the quality of particle singulation is of utmost importance. The QICPIC's modular design allows for the application of dosing and dispersing units suitable for wet and dry products, providing flexibility to accommodate powders, granules, fibers, suspensions, and emulsions. This ensures product-specific characterization that aligns with the true nature of the application.
